The November meeting was held

to order at 7:10.
Cliff
introduced Jimmy Gaskins and Andy Blum. Both were members of the club
in the past and are interested in fishing with us again.
The
patterns for Lake Martin were discussed without a whole lot of
enthusiasm. The fish that were caught were caught on just about
everything.
At
the October meeting, the club voted to have a booth and enter The
Great Chili Challenge. Cliff made the chili, while Ris and Carol Cowan
manned the booth. They passed out schedule cards and talked up the
club. Cliff and Jim Daughtry were working their own booths and helped
Ris when they could. Our chili won the second place Judges' Choice
award.

A
Board of Directors meeting will be held before the next meeting to
create the 2003 schedule.
We
decided to move the January meeting date to the second Thursday of the
month, January 9.
Discussion
was held on whether we should have a tournament in January or not. It
was decided the BOD will pick a date for a January tournament and a
June tournament and the club will vote on the matter at the January
meeting.
The
club collectively chose to vote for Brendan Smith for the
Director-at-large, North position in the GBCF election.
Andy
collected money for dues, federation dues, family weekend food and the
lunker pot.

drew for the Oconee tournament. Parings are as follows:

Launch
will be at Sugar Creek. Eddie is going to reserve a cabin at the Sugar

suggested we have a booth at the Peachtree Civitan Great Chili
Challenge. Jim Daughtry seconded the motion and the motion passed.

The
patterns at Lakes Mitchell and Jordan were discussed. Most fish were
caught on spinnerbaits and crankbaits, and some were caught on
topwater and worms.
Top
Six 2003 was discussed. Reservations have been made and confirmed at
Lakepoint resort for two cabins.
The
Lake Martin family weekend was discussed and the drawing was held for
the Lake Martin tournament. The pairings are:

led discussion on winning patterns at our Lake Jackson tournament.
They aren't worth mentioning.
Cliff
led discussion on the subject of insurance for the club. It was
decided we would do some more research on the matter and find out from
other clubs if they have insurance. We will re-visit this subject in
the future.

drawing was held for our Lake Mitchell/Lake Jordan tournament. The

Donnie
is making reservations at the Best Western in Clanton, AL. Check back
soon for confirmation. To get there, use exit 205 on I-65. The hotel
is on the east side of the interstate on the north side of the road.
We
will launch from Higgins Ferry State Launch at Lake Mitchell. This is
the same ramp we have always used. From the hotel, go north on I-65 to
the next exit (exit 208). Turn left (east) and take the road to the
end. It ends at the ramp.
At
Lake Jordan, we will launch from Bonner's Fishing Lodge.

to order at 7:05. Cliff opened discussion on the patterns used at our
Lanier tournament in May.
Prospective
member Jim Daughtry was voted into the club.
Discussion
was held on the youth fishing derby which was held in May in
conjunction with the Peachtree City Recreation Department. Club
members who attended helped in baiting hooks, casting, landing and
handling of fish, and general fishing knowledge. It was agreed that
this event has a lot of potential, and we will become more involved in
the years to come.
The
family weekend planned for June 1-2 was discussed. It will be held at
Lake Sinclair at the Norton's cabin.
Cliff
moved to change the date of the August meeting to July 25. Motion
passed.

discussed the youth fishing event scheduled for May 18..

led discussions on patterns at our latest tournaments, Clarks Hill and
Hartwell. Patterns varied at Clarks Hill from crankbaits to Carolina
rigs to bedding fish. Lake Hartwell's best patterns were crankbaits on
points and rip-rap.

Cliff called the
meeting to order at 7:05 PM and introduced prospective member Gerard
Roth. Discussion was held on the productive patterns at our Lake
Eufaula tournament. The consensus was mostly spinnerbaits on windy
points. Some bedding fish were caught and some fish were caught on a
Carolina-rigged trick worm.
Cliff reminded
everyone that Georgia fishing licenses expired March 31. Don't forget
to renew your license!
Prospective
members Don DeHaven and George Edwards were voted into the club. They
now enjoy all of the benefits of being active members of the PTCBA.
Donnie
Hendrickson discussed the Peachtree City Recreation Department's youth
fishing event that we will be helping out with. The date of the event
is May 18, and there will be more information in the near future. We
need all members who can help to be there.
Cliff made a
motion to begin a progressive lunker pot. The motion passed, and the
details are being ironed out. Expect an email with the rules on this
pot in the near future.
The club decided
to go ahead and make reservations at Seminole State Park for our 2003
Lake Seminole tournament.
Cliff discussed
the lodging for our Clark Hill tournament April 13-14. If you need
details, call Cliff.
Jim Norton
announced the weekend we had scheduled our summer family outing (June
8-9) will not work. Expect an email from Jim with alternate dates.

2002 Meeting Minutes
Due to the date of the Seminole
tournament, our March meeting was held on February 28.

Bost called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm and introduced prospective
member Jim Daughtry.
The
members present explained how they caught their fish at Lake Sinclair.
The predominant pattern was crankbaits fished around wood.
Andy
discussed the lodging at Lake Seminole. We were unable to get cabins
at the state park. The only available lodging on the lake was at
Seminole Sportsman's Lodge which is located on Fish Pond Drain across
from the state park. We have reservations for 4 mobile home units
which sleep 3 persons. Check your lake map or call Andy for
directions.
Andy
discussed the youth fishing event scheduled for May 18. Donnie is
coordinating with the Peachtree City Recreation Department on this
project. It will be held at the Line Creek Nature Area in Peachtree
City. This will be a great opportunity for us to fulfill our
requirement with GBCF concerning a youth program, and it will also
fulfill our obligation to the Rec Department for the use of our
meeting room. There will be more details in the near future. For now,
leave the date open so we can help out.

called the meeting to order at 7:15 and presented Billy with numbers
for his boat that were all the same size and color. He will no longer
have a ransom note on either side of his Triton.

distributed new corrected schedule cards.
The
Lake Martin tournament top finishers explained how they caught their
fish. The general consensus was small crankbaits fished shallow around
wood and Texas and Carolina rigged worms fished around wood.
Cliff
updated the club on initiatives to increase membership.

made a motion to end production of The Barking Bass newsletter, making
the website the primary source of club information. Motion passed.

January
2002 Meeting Minutes
The January meeting was held
Tuesday, January 8 due to the inclement weather on our normal meeting
day.

called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM and welcomed our prospective
members.
Andy
Treon collected votes for Sportsman of the Year.
We
reviewed the schedule and found two errors on the cards. The Lake
Jackson tournament will be held on Friday, August 9. The Oconee
tournament will be held on November 23.
Discussion
was held on tournament start/stop times. It was decided to leave them
the same (Start at safe light per the Tournament Director, end at 3:00
PM Georgia time on Saturday and 1:00 PM on Sunday)

Bost opened for discussion what to do with the Top Six money. Donnie
Hendrickson suggested that whatever we do, the entire club must
benefit. Everyone seemed open to the idea of buying jackets for the
membership. Andy Treon moved that the club table the discussion and
revisit it mid-year. Motion passed.

Bost opened discussion on membership and trying to get members who are
currently on LOA to become active again.

Bost opened discussion on the awards banquet on January 13. It will be
held at Whirly-Ball at a cost of $150/hour from 2:30 PM until 5:30 PM.
It was decided that the club will pay for two hours ($300), and if we
decide to continue playing, the members will pitch in. Awards will be
presented at the Whirly-Ball facility immediately afterward. Following
the awards presentation, members will meet at the Stony Creek
Steakhouse for dinner.

Treon discussed the payouts from the 2001 season and the dues for the
2002 year. Annual dues are due at the February meeting.

Privett performed the drawing for the Lake Martin tournament on

December
2001 Meeting Minutes
The
December meeting was combined with the annual Board of Directors
meeting and was held Sunday, December 9. Several items were discussed.
The
club decided not to fish the 2002 Top Six tournament.
Officers
were elected for 2002.
The
2002 tournament schedule was created.
The
club decided to have our awards banquet at Whirly Ball. The tentative
date is January 13. More details to come...
After
the meeting we ate smoked ham and all the fixins. Thanks to everyone
for bringing covered dishes and helping out.
