The annual awards banquet was
held on January 19, 2008. Mark Ward was charged with
organizing the event and he did so well that he may just be
the new lifetime Banquet Director.Mark smoked the meat and
cooked an awesome breakfast for those who came to "help".
The awards presented included:
Angler of the Year—Mike Brunett
Lunker of the Year—Lanier Hunt
Sportsman of the Year—Bud Whatley
Mike Brunett presented several members
with gag awards including a pair of swim floaties to Shawn
Hendrix, a custom t-shirt for Mark Ward, morning poo supplies
for Bud Whatley and an extra set of eyes for Jim Norton.
The big story was Lanier Hunt. Lanier,
who normally doesn't make it to the banquet, had a great time.
He was the center of attention and had everyone in stitches.
